Buck's Review of Burris Oracle X Rangefinding Bow Sight
After much research I decided to purchase the Oracle X this winter for my wifes birthday. I purchased it early to take advantage of an Optics Planet sale. By her birthday it was out of their 30 day return window. As soon as it came out of the box, the remote didn't work. I contacted Burris and they immediately sent me a new remote. As reported in many reviews the battery cap is a pain, but this one was almost impossible to get on. The threads would not catch. The battery that came with the scope went from full to dead after one truing session that lasted at most 2 hours. I again contacted Burris and they immediately sent me a new battery and a new cap. In the meantime, I put a NEW and tested battery in the scope and turned it on a couple of times for a couple of days. This new battery went totally dead without ever having used the bow.
I contacted Optics Planet and they advised that 30 days was past, so I had to go through Burris. Burris sent me a return label and I sent the scope to them.
Burris acknowledged receipt by e-mail and advised that it would be a 5 to 6 week wait for repairs. I waited a week then contacted them advising that as it was a NEW scope there should be no delay. Burris responded back that all repairs are first come, first serv.
I have to assume now that rather then having a new working scope, we will be dealing with a refurbished unit.
At this point there is NO WAY that I could recommend an Oracle X scope.
