I purchased the holster for my Freedom Arms 454 Casull and it fits perfectly. Yes, it can be used on the right as a straight draw holster, but it rides high and with my old shoulder it is difficult to pull those 7.5" out of the holster. Using it in the cross draw mode, it is easy to access and draw for me. In cross draw, it is easy to slide on a 1.5" belt, even new. The leather quality indicates it will stay stiff and sturdy in that area for years. It is comfortable in cross draw when walking and while riding my ATV. Concealment is negateted, because of the 7.5" of barrel. Even with a hunting vest, the bottom of the holster is visible below the vest. Pistol access and retention are excellent with the strap that is provided. It snaps securely, is located where I can easily reach it, and unsnaps with minimal noise.

I found that it will work with my Ruger Blackhawk single six's, both 357 with 6.5" barrel and a 22LR single six with 6.5" barrel. There is some left over leather in the barrel with these pistols. I have ordered the same holster in the 6.5" version for these pistols because I'm that impressed with the quality of craftsmanship and fit of Galco.

Excellent holster. Was looking for something to cross-carry my SBH for hunting; this fit the bill nicely. Quality leather, gun fits perfectly in holster. Leather is stiff, think it will loosen up some through use. Very pleased with purchase.

Overall, decent holster.
Pros: Fit my Ruger Blackhawk Bisley Hunter 7.5". Light weight and looks good. Initially, the fit was difficult, but after following the adjustment instructions, it fit fine.
Cons: Took a while to ship even though it was 'In stock', and then shipped from some outfit in Ohio. The cant is not adjustable - it is fine when standing or on horse, but gets in the way otherwise. Barrel goes all the way to end of holster.

The Galco Holster is very nice and it fit my Ruger New Vaquero perfect. OpticsPlanet.com service was great, I recieved the holster in just a few days. I would definatly order from them again.
