Worked out great for me
overall a great tool in your bag of goodies...I used it in Iraq, so I didn't have to grab a big set of binos, or look down through my scope on my weapon and point it at anyone...
Pros: Small and accessible at all times
Cons: glass gets gritty fast

Great idea, poor quality
It's a really nice idea, but mine has some really horrible aberrations in the image. The right half of the image is horribly blurred. Looking from the objective lens onto a cross-hatch test pattern, it is easily seen.
Pros: Small size
Cons: Poor lens quality
For older eyes
Works well at the indoor range. Hits are clear at 25 yds. No more moving target back and forth.
Pros:
- Lightweight easy to adjust
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- indoor range

Small, Cheap, Functional
Glass clarity isnt pristine but you can still make out small letters (like license plates) at distances out to 200-300 meters. Extremely lightweight and portable; not the greatest eyebox but cupping your hand over the objective and placing it directly over your eye allows you to scan without squinting. Great monocular for the money that will fit in most admin pouches/cummerbunds, will fit into a pocket easily . Especially useful if you dont want to flag random people using a rifled scope. 60$ is an unbeatable price.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- Cheap
- Small
- Portable
- Clear
Cons:
- Clarity
- eyebox

Easy to carry
Purchased for a trip & it worked great. I didn’t use the belt holder because it was small enough to carry in my pocket. I chose the 8x instead of the 10x for the wider field of view & to reduce the effects of image “instability” if not held perfectly still, & I found that 8x was good for my use of general observation. I got caught in a rainstorm that soaked both the inside & outside of the pocket that the monocular was in & it didn’t have any problems after getting wet. The eye cup doesn’t always stay extended, but I wear glasses, so that wasn’t an issue for me.
Pros:
- Small size makes it easy to carry
- Can use while wearing glasses
Cons:
- No lens caps
Best Used for:
- General observation

Great little monocular, perfect for carrying around
I bought this for my wife for Christmas for when she is at our property in Tennessee. Its a great little optic that fits nicely in her purse so she will have it with her wherever she goes. She's already used it when we went to the Trans-Siberia Orchestra and Mannheim Steamroller concerts and she is delighted with it. Highly recommended if you need a small optic you can take with you anywhere you go!

Vortex monocular
I bought this for bow hunting timber/field edges. I get tired of my binos getting caught up in my grunt tubes around my neck. It seems to work good for the price and my three year old little boy can use it much easier than binos.
Pros:
- Size/price
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Hunting, fishing/quick reference

Ideal for my needs
I don't how one could get better optics at this price and this size. 8X is perfect for one handed operation, anymore and the view would be too shaky. Focus ring operates just fine with one hand. Light weight and small enough to easily carry in a shirt pocket. Having lost most of the vision in my right eye there was really no point in carrying binoculars anymore. I'm a big fan of Vortex optics and their warranty. These will go with me on my kayak, hunting and just for fun viewing in general.
Thanks again Optics Planet

Simple and Useful
This optic is very small and light weight making it extremely useful. It is rugged and can be carried just about anywhere you need it. There is nothing fancy about it which I think is it's biggest strength. The 8x is perfect for scanning and general observation out to about 1000 - 1500 meters. The case is not very good but it's easy to find a replacement because of the size. It can fit into a 5.56 mag pouch.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- rugged
- Small
Cons:
- case
Best Used for:
- General observation

Good monocular for the money
I bought this for my wife after a surgery for a detached retina which makes it uncomfortable for her to use binoculars.
As with everything Vortex, the quality is good, and the glass is clear. No complaints.

Best simple scope for the money...Vortex Solo 8x25
Looking for simplicity and low cost "EDC" monocular w/o sacrificing quality? ...this item is it!
Rubber coating is flawless.
Shape of tube and grip is well thought out.
Toothed focusing ring rotates smoothly.
Eyecup operates and stays put.
Glass produces sharp image.
Carrying case is not "tactical" but adequate.
